Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Dartboard Finder collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It covers the website at www.dartboardfinder.com (the "site").

It sits alongside our Cookie Policy, which lists the cookies and similar technologies the site uses and how long each one lasts.

1. Who we are

Dartboard Finder is a worldwide directory of darts venues, leagues, clubs and events. It is operated by:

QiSpark Pty Ltd
Suite 44, Unit 5/7 Eden Park Drive
Macquarie Park NSW 2113
Australia

Email: [email protected]
Contact form: https://airtable.com/appGL4Pd3xG7LwaY8/shrp4Is8bbRiZlH2c

In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean QiSpark Pty Ltd. For visitors in the UK, the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland, QiSpark Pty Ltd is the "controller" of your personal data. We are based in Australia and have no office in the UK or EEA.

2. The short version

  • You can browse Dartboard Finder without an account and without telling us who you are.
  • If you contact us or submit a venue, we use what you send to deal with your request. Venue submissions are checked and published automatically, so anything you enter as the venue's contact details appears on the public listing.
  • We use Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Google AdSense. In the UK, EEA and Switzerland they run only after you agree. Everywhere else they run by default, we tell you so when you first visit, and you can turn them off at any time in Cookie Preferences in the site footer.
  • If you use "near me", your location is used to find and sort nearby venues. It stays in your browser, it is not stored in our database, and it is not used for tracking or advertising.
  • We do not sell your personal information for money.

3. What we collect and how

3.1 Information you give us

Contact form and other Airtable forms. Our contact form, the form for submitting a league, event or club, and the forms for claiming a listing or reporting a problem with one are hosted by Airtable. When you fill one in, the details you enter (such as your name, email address and message) go to Airtable and we read them there. The claim and report forms are pre-filled with details of the listing you were looking at, never with anything about you.

Submit a venue. The Submit a Venue form asks for details about the venue (name, address, country, board types and numbers, cost to play, links and an optional description), an optional venue contact, which may include a name, email address or phone number, and your own contact details (your name and email address) together with whether you are the venue's owner or manager. If you leave a required field blank, the form cannot be sent.

Submissions are checked automatically. We use OpenAI to confirm that the details describe a darts venue, and Google's mapping services to confirm and locate the address; neither receives your own contact details. If the checks pass, the venue is published to the site automatically, and anything you entered as the venue contact becomes part of the public listing. If you give us someone else's contact details as the venue contact, please make sure they are happy to be listed. Anyone whose details appear in a listing can ask us to remove them (see section 3.2). Your submission, including your contact details, is shared with our team through our private Slack workspace. We may use your contact details to follow up about your submission, for example to fix a problem with the listing or to invite you to verify it.

Emails. If you email us, we receive your email address, the content of your message and anything you attach. Our mailbox is hosted by Google (Google Workspace).

Content management accounts. People who manage content on the site have accounts in our content management system. That includes our staff and contractors and, where we have set it up, people who maintain their own listing. An account holds a name, email address, a password (stored in hashed form), a role and sign-in records. Visitors do not have accounts.

3.2 Information in listings, and where it comes from

Listings describe venues, leagues, clubs and events. Most of this is business information, but a listing can include contact details for a venue, organiser or club contact, such as a name, phone number or email address.

Listing information comes from:

  • venue owners, organisers and club contacts who submit or update their own listing;
  • people who submit, claim or report a listing;
  • public sources we check when adding or verifying a listing, such as venue and league websites, social media pages, Google business listings and league platforms;
  • our own tools, which search those public sources for darts venues and queue candidates for our team to review.

When we verify a listing we may record what we found in those sources and who made the decision.

If you are named in a listing and want something corrected or removed, contact us (see section 13). We will act on reasonable requests within 30 days.

3.3 Information collected automatically

Server and network data. Like most websites, when you visit the site your browser sends technical information to the services that deliver it, including your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. Cloudflare, which sits in front of the site, and Vercel, which hosts it, process this information to deliver pages, keep the site secure and diagnose problems.

Country from your connection. We work out which country your connection comes from so we can apply the right cookie rules (see section 6). The country is not stored. If it cannot be determined, we apply the stricter consent-first rules.

Abuse prevention. To stop the location lookup from being abused, our server briefly keeps a count of lookups per IP address in memory. These counts are not written to our database.

Analytics. When analytics cookies are on:

  • Google Analytics 4 collects information about how you use the site, such as the pages you view, how long you stay, your approximate location (derived from your IP address), and your device and browser. We use it in aggregate to understand which venues, leagues and areas people look for. Page addresses on this site include the country or area you are browsing, so Google Analytics sees those too.
  • Microsoft Clarity records how you interact with pages, including clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, as session replays and heatmaps. We use this to see where pages are confusing or broken. Replays can include text shown on the page, such as the area you have chosen. Microsoft acts as an independent controller of this data and may use it for its own purposes, including Microsoft Advertising, as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Advertising. When advertising cookies are on, Google AdSense collects information such as cookie identifiers, your IP address, the pages you visit and how you interact with ads, so it can select, measure and cap the frequency of ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's advertising cookies let Google and its partners serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at optout.aboutads.info (or youronlinechoices.eu in Europe).

In the UK, EEA and Switzerland, Google requires consent to be collected through a Google-certified consent platform before it serves personalised ads. We do not currently use one, so ads shown to visitors in those regions are limited ads that do not use cookies for personalisation.

Our own sponsored ads. Some pages show ads from sponsors that we place ourselves. These are images served by us with a plain link to the sponsor. They do not set cookies or track you, and they show whether or not advertising cookies are on. Turning advertising cookies off stops Google AdSense, not these.

3.4 Information stored on your device

The site stores a small amount of information in your browser:

  • a cookie that remembers your cookie choices, and when you made them, for 12 months;
  • a sign-in cookie for administrators, which is not set for visitors;
  • the country and area you pick, and your coordinates if you use "near me", in your browser's local storage (see section 3.5);
  • analytics and advertising cookies and storage, set by Google and Microsoft only when those categories are on.

The full list, including how long each item lasts, is in our Cookie Policy.

3.5 Your location when you use "near me"

The site reads your device's location only when your browser asks you for permission and you grant it, for example when you press "use my location" or the location button on the venue map. If you have already allowed location access for this site, the site may use it again on a later visit without asking, to show nearby venues or centre the map on you. You can stop this at any time by turning off location permission for the site in your browser.

When your location is used:

  • On your device. Your coordinates are saved in your browser's local storage so that nearby results keep working as you move around the site.
  • Sent to our server. The coordinates are sent securely to our server (never in the page address) so we can work out which city or area you are in and sort nearby venues by distance.
  • Working out your area. Our server uses our own suburb boundary lookup service, which we run on Amazon Web Services in Sydney, for locations in and around Australia; our own database of listed places; and, if neither finds a match, Komoot's Photon geocoding service (which uses OpenStreetMap data), which receives coordinates rounded to roughly 1 km. These requests come from our server, so neither service receives your IP address, cookies or any identifier for you. Our boundary lookup service keeps request records for up to 90 days. Our server also keeps recent lookup results in memory for up to 24 hours so it does not repeat them.
  • Not stored or used for tracking. Responses that carry your coordinates are marked so they are not cached. We do not save your coordinates in our database, we do not send them to Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity or Google AdSense, and we do not write them to our application logs.
  • How long they last. The coordinates stay on your device until you pick another place, reset your location, change country or clear this site's data in your browser.

The venue map is provided by Google Maps and loads regardless of your cookie choices, so Google receives your IP address and the map area you are viewing. If the map centres on your position, that happens in your browser; your position is not sent to us for that, but the map area Google sees then shows roughly where you are.

4. Why we use your information, and our legal basis

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered your interests and rights and believe they are not overridden. You can ask us for more detail about that assessment.

Your right to object. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time by contacting us (section 13). We will stop unless we can show compelling grounds to continue.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it. You are never required to give us personal information to browse the site. Where a form marks a field as required, we cannot deal with the request without it.

Outside the UK, EEA and Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are on by default, we tell you so when you first visit, and you can turn them off at any time in Cookie Preferences.

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. Venue submissions are checked automatically, but that affects whether a venue listing is published, not your rights.

5. Who receives your information

We use the following service providers. Each one receives only what it needs for its role. Most act on our instructions. Google (for Analytics and AdSense) and Microsoft (for Clarity) also use the data they collect for their own purposes, as independent controllers, under their own policies.

For Google Analytics and AdSense, we use Google Consent Mode, which tells Google's tags whether you have allowed analytics and advertising storage. Google also offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics.

We may also disclose personal information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or restructure of our business (in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information).

6. Cookies and your choices

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies, plus optional analytics and advertising cookies.

  • In the UK, the EEA (including Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway), the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and Switzerland, optional cookies are loaded only after you agree. You can accept all, reject all, or choose by category, and the choices screen starts with everything off.
  • Everywhere else, analytics and advertising cookies are on by default. We tell you so when you first visit, and you can turn either category off, or reject all, from the notice or at any time afterwards.

We work out which applies from the country your connection comes from. If we cannot tell, we apply the consent-first rules. We record your choice, and when you made it, in a cookie. You can review or change your choices at any time using Cookie Preferences in the site footer, or here:

Turning a category off clears the cookies we can reach and stops the related scripts. The full list of cookies and on-device storage, with what each does and how long it lasts, is in our Cookie Policy.

7. International transfers

Dartboard Finder is run from Australia. Our server code, database, boundary lookup service and automation tools all run in Sydney. Australia does not have an adequacy decision from the EU or the UK, so if you are in the UK, EEA or Switzerland, your information is handled outside those regions from the moment we collect it.

Some of our service providers also process information in other countries:

  • United States: Google (Analytics, AdSense, Maps, Workspace), Microsoft (Clarity), Airtable, Slack and OpenAI. Vercel, Cloudflare and MongoDB are US companies whose services for us run in Sydney, but support and some operational data may be accessed from the US.
  • Germany: Komoot (Photon geocoding), which receives only rounded coordinates from our server.
  • Global networks: Cloudflare processes requests in data centres around the world, usually the one closest to you.

Where personal data of people in the UK, EEA or Switzerland is transferred to the United States, we rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, its UK Extension and the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified (Vercel, Cloudflare, MongoDB, Amazon, Google and Microsoft are), and otherwise on the provider's standard contractual clauses (for example Airtable). If a provider's certification lapses or the Framework is invalidated, we fall back on standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for a copy of the clauses that apply (section 13).

For Australian visitors, when we disclose personal information to overseas providers we take reasonable steps, through our choice of providers and their terms, to make sure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

8. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as long as the law requires.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. For example, the site is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), access to our content management system is limited to authorised accounts with role-based permissions, passwords are stored in hashed form, and responses carrying your location are marked so they are not cached.

No website or online service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information sent to us. If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the relevant regulator where the law requires us to.

10. Your rights

You can contact us about any of the rights below using the details in section 13. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We do not charge for making a request, and we aim to respond within 30 days.

Australia (Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles)

You can:

  • ask for access to the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading;
  • stay anonymous or use a pseudonym when you deal with us, where that is practical (for example, you can browse the site without giving us your name); and
  • make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information.

We do not use personal information in computer programs to make decisions that could reasonably be expected to significantly affect your rights or interests.

If we refuse a request, we will tell you why. If you are not satisfied with our response to a complaint, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC): www.oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints, phone 1300 363 992.

UK, EEA and Switzerland (UK GDPR, EU GDPR and the Swiss FADP)

Subject to some legal limits, you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
  • rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • erase your data;
  • restrict how we use your data;
  • data portability, meaning you can receive data you gave us in a commonly used, machine-readable format, or ask us to send it to someone else;
  • withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it, for example by changing your choices in Cookie Preferences.

You also have the right to object to our use of your data where we rely on legitimate interests (see section 4). Tell us what you object to and we will stop unless we can show compelling grounds to continue.

Complaints. You can complain to us first, and we encourage you to. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and tell you the outcome. You can also complain to a supervisory authority at any time: the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK (ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint), the data protection authority in the EEA country where you live or work (list of authorities), or the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner in Switzerland (edoeb.admin.ch/en).

United States

Depending on where you live, US state privacy laws may give you rights such as to know about, access, correct or delete personal information, and to opt out of "targeted advertising" or the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. Google AdSense's use of cookies to personalise ads may count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some of these laws; you can opt out by turning off advertising cookies in Cookie Preferences. The site does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals; please use Cookie Preferences instead. To make any other request, contact us using the details in section 13.

Other ways to control your information

  • Turn analytics and advertising cookies on or off at any time in Cookie Preferences in the site footer.
  • Clear this site's data in your browser to remove your saved location and other on-device storage.
  • Turn off location permission for the site in your browser settings.
  • Manage Google ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com, and opt out of other vendors' personalised ads at optout.aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.

11. Children

Dartboard Finder is a directory for people looking for places to play darts, many of which are licensed venues. The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Links to other sites and venue listings

Listings and pages on Dartboard Finder link to other websites and services, such as venue and league websites, social media pages and booking pages, and our forms are hosted by Airtable. When you follow those links or use those forms, the other site's own privacy policy applies, not this one. We are not responsible for how other sites handle your information.

Venues, leagues, clubs and event organisers are separate from us. If you contact one of them directly through details shown in a listing, they handle your information under their own privacy practices.

13. Contact us

If you have a question about this policy, want to make a request about your personal information, want a copy of the safeguards we rely on for international transfers, or want to make a complaint, please contact us:

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the site, our service providers or the law change. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. If we make a significant change, for example using your information for a new purpose, we will make it clear on the site, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent again.
